Clinical Approach
I take a collaborative mind-body approach, meeting clients where they are on their therapeutic journey. Utilizing EMDR, somatic approaches, psychodynamic therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I integrate talk and body-centered techniques to facilitate personal growth and resilience. Together with my clients, we explore thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations to support meaningful and lasting change.
Who I Work With
I work with adults of all ages but primarily see individuals in their 20s and 30s. I work primarily with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, and significant life transitions, as well as members of the LGBTQ+ community and those seeking a more holistic approach. I am committed to providing culturally sensitive care to individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those from my own Greek heritage.
Training & Credentials
Master of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John's University. Provisionally licensed mental health counselor (MHC-LP), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and EMDR trained.
My Why
I was drawn to this field by a deep desire to help individuals navigate their life challenges. What continues to inspire me is witnessing the resilience and growth of my clients throughout their journeys.
Treatment Philosophy
I believe in the inherent strength and resilience of every individual, the power of genuine connection, and our natural capacity for psychological self-healing. These beliefs guide my collaborative approach to therapy, supporting clients as they discover their own path to growth and well-being.
What to Expect
In the first session, I create a collaborative and welcoming space where we begin to build trust and rapport. This time is dedicated to getting to know your unique story, understanding your goals, and setting a foundation for our work together. Each client's journey is unique, so the length of time in therapy varies. However, you may recognize progress when you find yourself giving more grace to your experiences, creating distance from distressing self-beliefs, and becoming more attuned to your mind-body connection.
Creating Inclusive Space
I am dedicated to fostering a welcoming and affirming environment for clients of diverse identities and cultural backgrounds. I continuously strive to deepen my understanding of various identities and cultures, remaining open to ongoing education. By approaching each client with openness, respect, and curiosity, I aim to honor their unique experiences and tailor therapeutic approaches that promote safety and empowerment.
Beyond Therapy
I'm passionate about hot yoga and plan to become a certified hot yoga teacher next year. I also love animals and have a goal to visit and hike all of the national parks in the United States. I currently serve on the 2024–2025 board of the NYMHCA Metro Chapter, where I contribute to advocacy initiatives aimed at promoting mental health equity and social justice.
