Clinical Approach

My style as a therapist is softly direct and inviting. I use a relational approach to build connection with my clients, as I believe our therapeutic rapport is the most important element of this process. I draw primarily from Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I use an integrative approach to customize treatment for clients who want a top-down approach (more talk therapy) or a bottom-up approach (body-based/somatic therapy).

Who I Work With

My typical clients are those in their 20s and 30s dealing with anxiety, eating disorders, addiction/alcoholism, and life transitions.

Training & Credentials

Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY, CT, VT, and FL. EMDR certified with extensive training in CBT, DBT, ACT, and IFS.

My Why

With over a decade in this field and working with some clients I've seen for over five years, I believe my most important role as a person is to connect with other people and be of service to them. At the end of the day, our relationships with each other lay the groundwork for everything else in life to flourish. On both personal and professional levels, I am constantly amazed by the resiliency and adaptability that people show when faced with life's challenges. I view my role as an equal partnership with clients, and being able to bear witness to this process is a true honor.

What to Expect

As someone who has lived in NYC since 2010, I know how daunting the rush of the city can be and the sense of urgency that comes with juggling everything in life. In our initial sessions together, my goal is to slow people down, get them back into their bodies, and realign them with their intuition. The first session is me zooming out to get a bigger picture of you as a whole person, beyond just your issues or symptoms. I seek out more of what you care about and where you feel most passionate inside and outside of the therapy space.

Treatment Philosophy

As trust is earned throughout our work together, when appropriate, I will use self-disclosure to show clients that not only am I extensively trained in the topic areas we are working through, I have a shared lived experience too. Sometimes having a therapist say "I went through the same thing too and came out on the other side" brings people from feeling hopeless to hopeful.

Beyond Therapy

I am a dog lover and any free time I have is spent with my mini long-haired dachshund, Peanut, laying in the park with friends and family. I am also a lifelong learner, constantly seeking out further training and guidance in the mental health field.
