Rebecca Heller, LMHC-D, NCC
Rebecca is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in New York, New Jersey, Vermont, and Florida, with more than 7 years of experience in the mental health field. At MMHC, she works as both a Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor. She's earned several credentials, including National Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Grief-Informed Professional (CGP), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy Professional
(CDBT).
Rebecca has extensive experience working with clients aged 18 and up for individual and group therapy. She has experience working with individuals experiencing a variety of struggles including trauma, grief, depression, substance use/addiction, anxiety, shame or guilt, mood dysregulation, low-self esteem, and others.
In her sessions, she really focuses on self-compassion and mindfulness. Rebecca encourages her clients to celebrate their wins and creates a warm, safe, and non-judgmental environment by being her true self. She uses an integrative approach, blending techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Harm Reduction, mindfulness, and humor, as she believes that humor is healing.
In her free time, Rebecca enjoys watching the New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New York Mets, and New York Jets, having been a loyal fan since childhood. She also loves solo travel, exploring new places and learning about the history and cultures of the areas she visits.
